In the cell: considerations about attached senses in Angeli’s cartoons

Abstract

Unlike other critical texts marked, in the media discourse, by the effect of persuading readers with truthful arguments, cartoons and caricatures adopt the laughter’s strategy as a way to make pictures, criticism and denouncement talk. Based on this statement, this paper aims to study the discursive functioning of some Angeli’s cartoons from the French Discourse’s Analysis and Bakhtin’s concept of dialogism. Our corpus consists of works published in the newspaper “Folha de São Paulo” in 2003 and 2007. The interest here is to observe the dialogue established between them, how they refer to each other and the form they interweave a way of speaking about justice in our country.
