(Re)thinking tradition and transformations on documentary filmmaking

Abstract

The book Tradição e reflexões: contributos para a teoria e estética do documentário (whose title in English means Tradition and reflections: contributions to the documentary’s theory and aesthetics) discusses, through sixteen articles, classic proposals and contemporary reflections on documentary filmmaking, which range from the griersonian tradition to the changes arising from the new Communication technologies.
