ResumoBased on the theoretical models of language acquisition developed by Schumann, Andersen and Giles, and on the model of selftranslation developed by Pavlenko and Lantolf, this paper aims at arguing for a relation between foreign language acquisition and identity reconstruction in institutional learning environments.
