CULTURAL ASPECTS CONCERNING THE TEACHING OF PORTUGUESE AS AN ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE (PLA): AN INTERCULTURAL MEDIATION PROPOSAL

This article aims to discuss the intercultural didactic mediation associated to concepts of multiculturalism and interculturality concerned to the intercultural topics arising in a semi structured interview with a Nigerian student of Brazilian Portuguese. The data were analyzed under qualitative interpretativist research paradigms. An intrinsic relation between language and culture appears on the student interview analysis as well as the subjects 'gesture' and 'clothing' as cultural conflicting points of contact in his learning. These elements can be motivational in his linguistic and cultural learning of the Portuguese language and indicate the possibility of contribution of the intercultural didactic mediation in this process.Downloads
