REFLEXÕES SOBRE A ATIVIDADE DE ELABORAÇÃO DE UM DICIONÁRIO BILÍNGUE

Abstract

Investigations about the lexicon have been the object of several research fields, such as Theoretical Linguistics, Psycholinguistics and Automated Natural Language Processing, which aim to define it through observations of its inherent characteristics. This work briefly approaches a subject related to the analysis of the lexicon: the development of a bilingual dictionary on one of Brazil’s indigenous languages. It is known that the development of a dictionary is an efficient way to describe a language, and that such task allows us to observe, for instance, how the lexical entries are specified regarding its content.
