A MOTIVAÇÃO DO SIGNO: ASPECTOS DO SIMBOLISMO SONORO E DA EXPRESSIVIDADE DA FALA

Abstract

This article aims to present theories and concepts of language researchers considering linguistic sign aspects. To some theorists the means of expression are settled, in other words, this relation is totally arbitrary, and to others there are controversies and this relation is motivated. In this article two conceptions are discussed, the arbitrariness and motivation of the linguistic sign, and, consequently concerning the last one, sound symbolism and the speech expressivity aspects.
