Abstract

The aim of this article is to observe the presence of laughter in the historical novel Galantes memórias e admiráveis aventuras do virtuoso Conselheiro Gomes, o Chalaça, written by José Roberto Torero and launched in 1994. The present study is based on Mikhail Bakhtin’s theoretical work where we can find a reflection on laughter and reduced laughter.
