This study aims to exploit prosodic characteristics of neutral yes-no questions of the dialectal varieties of Santa Catarina (speakers from Florianópolis) and Sergipe (speakers from Aracaju) by means of two different methodologies (AMPER-Por and Interpreted Reading). From the AMPER-Por approach, the results point out some prosodic differences concerning the speech varieties from Santa Catarina (truncation and variation of F0) and the speech varieties from Sergipe (f0 variation). Moreover, there are differences between speakers from Santa Catarina and Sergipe (pitch range and slope rate of F0). The results from the two methodologies are similar: the Florianópolis and Aracaju speakers produced ascending-descending intonation contours, as well as ascending intonation contours. However, the variation of F0 and pitch range are larger for the Aracaju speakers.
