Abstract

The aim of this paper is to consider and discuss the performance of undergraduates studying Digital Technologies, a subject which is part of the Arts/ Language curriculum at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, as well as examine the tutors´ procedures for making the e-learning environment more friendly and affective to students. The course was designed to help first-year students become familiar with information technology and communication, and with the educational platform Moodle, which is used in a semipresential sessions throughout the course. Our analysis considers data from three classes of Digital Technology and focuses on messages posted by students and course tutors in discussion forums, learners’ task performance, their interaction with the courseware and tutors´ interactional strategies.
