This paper analyses the possibility of a learner’s mother tongue being or not a facilitator in the process of teaching and learning a second language. The analysis is based on a recent theory in the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) which advocates that L2 and L1 acquisition are analogous processes, and on the concept of schemata proposed by Bartlet.Téléchargements
