Abstract

Most of the studies about language acquisition that have been realised until now are related to adult-child interaction. That's why my intention, in this paper, is to iniciate a discussion concerning social contacts established between children, reflecting, more specifically, about the nature of dialogic activity (interactional patterns) developed by a group of 9 to 20 months' babies. Therefore, I've selected an episode of a situation registered by videocassete at a public creche, since this is a place that may provide small children's interaction. The theoretical basis for this reflection is the bakhtinian notion of "voice" and a re-interpretation of De Lemos' concept of "specularity".
