Abstract

The Open Universities of the Third Age are up a space for sharing, citizenshipbuilding, expanding the social support network and acquiring new knowledge. The aim of this article is relate the experience of the Programa Idade Ativa do Centro Universitário Salesiano São Paulo (UNISAL) - Santa Teresinha campus, through quantitative research applied to 74 program participants in order to assess socioeconomic and demographic data, interests and motivations. The main results note the prevalence of the female audience in the program, with high purchasing power and high level of education. In addition, note that the program in its improvement, presents itself as an important opportunity to build new learning and build bridges, contributing to improving the quality of life of the participants.
