This research arises from the accompaniment of this growing number of deaf people who are now in this phase of life and are facing various difficulties regarding access to these legal institutions. The research consisted of a qualitative and descriptive study, through a semistructured interview, filmed in Libras and transcribed into Portuguese. For the content analysis, the MAXQDA software was used, based on the Bardin (2011) content analysis system. The results showed that the majority of society does not know Libras and is not prepared for this type of communication. It is hoped that the result of this research will present a singular look at the problems experienced by the elderly deaf people, and that it will serve as a support for institutions aimed at serving this portion of society.
