Experiences and perceptions of diabetic elderly in ambulatory treatment

The objective of this study was to verify and analyze the experiences and perceptions of elderly with type 2 diabetes. Thirty-five diabetic elderly were selected from the Endocrinology Ambulatory and Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Hospital das Clínicas, School of Medicine, University of São Paulo. Through the thematic analysis of the semi-structured interviews content, it was found that the elderly feel the need for family support and have a negative future perspective.
