Yoga and Aging: contributions about the practice of Yoga in the elderly people’s perception in Fortaleza, CE

This article aimed to investigate the elderly people’s perception about the practice of Yoga, as well as their concerns about aging and free time. For this, the study was framed in a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory model, with an ethnographic focus that had as participants five elderly Yoga practitioners. The instruments for data collection were the semi-structured interview and the participant observation and for the data analysis, the Collective Subject Discourse (CSD) was used. It was concluded that the practice of Yoga was perceived as a life-enhancing experience and a possibility for satisfactory aging.
