Falls are responsible for a large part of accidents with the elderly and loss of functional capacity. This study aims to analyze the effect of resistance training periodization on the risk of falls and functional capacity in elderly women. The ECR divided the participants into 3 groups: 2 intervention (TR) and one control. The RT showed greater efficiency in all evaluated items. Resistance training, whether linear or wave periodized, allowed the reduction of the risk of falling as well as improvement of functional capacity.
