Abstract

At Largo da Batata, in the city of São Paulo, community action has enabled the strengthening of collaborative opportunities within the context of urban infrastructure expansion and public space production, which are interventions produced by the Faria Lima Urban Consortium Operation. The impact of the interventions and removals has contributed to a depletion of the place’s significance. This article analyzes the emergence of a new social capital, which happened through different actions promoted by groups and associations. The research adopted the exploratory method, which, organized beyond geographical borders, compared materialities, personal interactions and different actors. The discussion shows that the case paved the way for new collaborative networks within the urban production process.
