The applied social sciences are characterized by controversies, conveniences and criticisms. Through bibliographic, exploratory research, the objective of the work is to analyze the controversies, conveniences and criticisms arising from the specificities and limits present in the different approaches of the theory of stakeholders. The research results show that the stakeholder theory presents numerous questionable points, from the classification of concepts to the relevance of the proposed models. The contribution of the research, by highlighting the controversies, conveniences and criticisms, points to the importance of spelling out objective criteria for the organization of organizational purposes, in situations of conflict of interest.
