The objective of this study is to identify the dimensions of leadership for digital transformation reported in academic literature and evaluate their interrelationships to increase understanding of how this leadership position influences the results of digital transformation in traditional companies. The methodological approach is qualitative and exploratory in nature, using the systematic literature review method. A total of 36 articles were selected for coding, which was carried out in the NVivo software, applying the eclectic and standard coding methods, and the coding result was analyzed using the content analysis method by grouping categories. Five dimensions were identified: leader typology, individual characteristics, influence mechanisms, expected results and contextual factors for leader adoption, with the two main dimensions being the contextual factors that determine the adoption of a leader for TD. and the influence mechanisms that affect the delivery of expected TD results. The value of this work is the application of the theoretical lens of strategic leadership to evaluate the dimensions of the leader for digital transformation.
