Abstract

The quality of nutrition is one of the main determinants of the population’s health condition, and Nutritional Education is relevant for its promotion. This activity becomes a hard task, since feeding habits are a complex phenomenon, involving several dimensions of human beings. We present a brief history of Nutritional Education and start the observation highlighting the relevance in articulating this knowledge with the social and historical process of constituting such habits. We remark the need of integrating technological and biological knowledge with social and human sciences during the nutritionist’s formation, objectifying conditions to establish more effective practices.
