Abstract

The absence of Brazilian literature in comparative literature programs of selection contests teachers of Modern Languages in France, it´s a clear sign that the discipline relates basically to the Franco-Anglo-German tripod. If a wider world mindset is necessary, is seems nevertheless delicate to refer to the constitution of literature value, highlighting also the somewhat distorted character of those studies accomplished in a strictly national context. Paradoxically, that explains that reinstating in their field of interest the Brazilian literature, as well as other forgotten areas, would teach the comparatists to relativize the national base of literature studies.
