MASCULINE CONSTRUCTIONS AND THE REARMAMENT OF THE RADICAL RIGHT

Abstract

This paper aims to present the tensions arising from the current clashes caused by the advance of far-right movements in Latin America and Europe, regarding the rights agenda of feminist and LGBTQIA+ movements. Conservative movements have been characterized by  an organic web of discourses and actions produced by systems of oppression operated by patriarchy, racism and capitalism, forming what the authors term as a reactionary ecosystem, amplifying reactionary voices opposed to the citizenship of historically invisibilized individuals in the liberal agenda of the State.

Author Biographies

Carla Cristina Garcia, PUC-SP

Possui graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1988), mestrado em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1991) e doutorado em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2000).Fez Pós Doutorado junto ao Instituto Jose Maria Mora- Mexico-DF (2004) como bolsista da FAPESP. Atualmente é professor assistente doutor da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo e professor titular da Universidade Municipal de São Caetano do Sul. Tem experiência na área de Sociologia de Gênero, Estudos Feministas e Lazer Urbano., atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: gênero, mulheres, condição social, relações socias e politicas sociais.

Fabio Fabio, PUC-SP

Possui graduação em Direito pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2001), mestrado em Direito pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2007) e doutorado em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2018). Atualmente é secretário geral da reitoria da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo. Tem experiência na área de Direito, com ênfase em Teoria do Estado, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: gênero, masculinidadese feminismo.

Aline Mandelli , PUC-SP

Possui graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2020), mestranda em Psicologia Social pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (2023). Pesquisadora do Núcleo Inanna - Núcleo de Pesquisa sobre Sexualidades, Gênero e Diferenças da Pontíficia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.
Tem ênfase de experiência e atuação nas temáticas de gênero, feminismos, antropologia social.
