Abstract

It is well known that Fairy Tales have long been present in the lives of children, transcending all the technological apparatus that the current conjuncture imposes. In this sense, the reason why ancient tales are still popular with children may be related to their influence on the lives of those privileged to plunge into their fantastic world. By contrast, this influence will be significant as such stories are propagated by the adults who permeate the lives of these children, and for this to occur naturally, it is also important that education professionals understand the benefits that these Tales can produce subjectively. Based on this principle, the study deals with a qualitative field research, whose main objective is to investigate the value attributed to Fairy Tales by teachers of early childhood education in a school in the city of Paranaíba - MS. To this end, semi-structured interviews were conducted with the educators, and data analysis was based on the psychoanalytical theoretical framework. Therefore, through conversation circles, the importance of Tales for children’s emotional development was explored, enabling discussions and contact with different stories. The results showed that, in general, the use of Tales is essentially associated with pedagogical contents, evidencing, on the other hand, the lack of knowledge of its repercussions on the child psyche. In this sense, through contact with the teachers, we sought to indirectly contribute to the children, so that the internalization of the Tales could happen in a significant way.
