Abstract

The objective of this paper is to identify the relationship of Information Technology in the support to bed management, regarding the performance of the systems, in the perception of managers, in private reference hospitals in the city of São Paulo. The research contemplates a descriptive multiple case studies, elaborated from the collection of data in sources of evidences that included interviews with managers and documentary analysis. In this study, the most productive hospital was the one with the shortest average length of stay, the highest turnover rate and the lowest replacement interval index. As a conclusion, it was verified that organization D was considered the most productive, given the investment and technological support associated with modern management practices.
