Career transition decision guidance model

The purpose of this article is to propose a guiding model for decisions in career transitions. To achieve this objective, bibliographical research was carried out, in addition to reflections on the results of an empirical study that presents a quantitative structural model based on the transition decisions of 457 professors who considered changing professions when pursuing an academic career. This model, associated with the bibliographical research, contributed with the necessary reflections to generate the proposal of five guiding factors that converge towards conscious and assertive decision-making in the career transition: Positioning the Moment of Life; Origin Situation Analysis; Reflections about the Change; Resource Balance; Analysis of the New Situation.
