Abstract Brazil presents a strange paradox of huge needs in urban infrastructure, while tens of millions of workers are unemployed. We have to build houses, sewage systems, green-belts for food around our cities and so on. All these activities are labor-intensive, and tend to generate a positive flux of income that tends to stimulate demand, which in turn will stimulate investments and so on, in a process that is well known, but has been lacking initiative in Brazil. The paper suggests some practical initiatives to start the process. Keywords: employment; unemployment; work; inflation.Metrics
