Abstract

The text discusses the relevance of Persistent Identifiers (PIs) for scientific integrity in the current academic context. It highlights the importance of PIs in ensuring accessibility, verifiability, and citation of research results, helping to avoid problems of information loss and fraud, and reflecting on the necessary engagement of the scientific community in this practice. It also addresses how PIs are essential in information management, promoting transparency and trust in research. In addition, it mentions the role of researchers in the adoption and dissemination of PIs, indicating both individual and collective responsibility in promoting the integrity and reliability of scientific production.
