This essay reconsiders epistemology, considering the contemporary condition of knowledge shaped by complexity and connectivity. It argues that, within informational ecosystems mediated by digital platforms, algorithms, and sociotechnical infrastructures, knowledge production and validation exceed the subject–object relationship, becoming distributed and institutionally conditioned processes. Drawing on social epistemology as well as feminist and decolonial critiques, the text highlights how epistemic plurality, cognitive injustice, and struggles over epistemic authority reconfigure criteria of objectivity. The essay concludes by advocating an expanded epistemology that is socially situated, critically reflexive, and normatively responsible.
