Abstract

This study aims to clarify the content of the category encounter with Jesus in its several aspects and its importance in the Christological approach for an understanding of the person and mission of Jesus from the perspective of the Kingdom of God and the consequences of such comprehension on today’s Church’s life and mission. Addressing the encounter as a guiding assumption of human existence and requirement for overcoming the overvaluation of subjectivity, individualism, with the emphasis on the personal exodus, the importance of relationships with each other as a constitutive element of meeting’s reality. Paradoxically the world that every day creates new media, on the other hand makes people increasingly distant from each other making it impossible to build an authentic "culture of encounter". The route of this study is searching for researches already developed by other authors in different areas.
