The specificity of the Christian Easter in relation to the Jewish Pessach

This article aims to present the line of discontinuity that exists between the Jewish Pesach and the Christian Easter. If, on the one hand, the authors of the New Testament interpreted the mystery of the death and resurrection of Christ based on paschal categories, the gestures and words of Jesus, on the other hand, presents in the Last Supper, have something of originality - embodied in the identification of the body and blood with the bread and the wine - which will be the nucleus of the Christian "New Easter". Furthermore, this early Christian celebration will be conceived as an encounter with the Resurrected, through which the hope of christians is renewed in the definitive liberation from every situation of sin and death itself (cf. 1Cor 15,20-23).
