The miracle in Scientific and Evolutionist Thought

The underestimation of the laws of nature has led theist to defend distinct conceptions of miracle. Miracles are traditionally interpreted as events which suspend the laws of nature, contradicting the scientific point of view. However, the modern Christian theology has reconsidered its concepts in view of the scientific affirmation about the inexorability of the physical, chemical, and biological laws. The present article studies the concept of miracle by the scientific and evolutionist point of view. A conception of divine action is presented in accord with the biblical assertion about the natural law inviolability, providing the harmony between both usual theistical definitions of miracle.
