ABRAHAM AND THE PARADIGMATIC FAITH: FROM THE ABSOLUTE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ABSOLUTE TO THE INCARNATION OF THE ABSOLUTE IN GOD-MAN JESUS CHRIST

Abstract

Investigating the ethical duty of the Tragic Hero and his moral virtue in a process involving sacrifice to the general and superimposing the universal to the singular, the article, based on Kierkegaard's theological-philosophical perspective, distinguishes between Agamemnon and Abraham the Knight of the Faith and his absolute relation to the Absolute through an act that maintains it beyond the general and its mediation and implies the temporary suspension of the ethical in a movement of infinite resignation in the face of absolute duty that converges to the absolute paradox of faith and closes individual spirituality as the basis of authentic existence. In this way, pointing out the overcoming of the challenge of the despair of the relation involving the moral principle and the order of God in an existential experience that engenders individual spirituality and the consciousness of uniqueness, the article underlines the process that makes Abraham the spiritual father of all who believes and that on the based on the Catholic-Protestant theological-biblical reading, it demands the manifestation of the God-Man Jesus Christ as the incarnation of the Logos in a movement that presupposes a new being and a new mode of existence and attributes to the condition that “all things are possible” whether to God or to man.
