After knowing a little about the Thanatology and Eschatology, arose the idea of returning the literary work Morte e vida Severina, by João Cabral de Melo Neto, to analyze the different aspects of death and of life. Scholars on the subject were consulted for a strong theoretical foundation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Holy Bible were used too. After a brief introduction, this article presents a literary analysis of the mentioned poem with a detailed study about the different aspects of the death. Besides a theoretical foundation, there is a comparison between the analyzed poem and the informed theories. Finally, there are some considerations regarding the situation of the contemporary human being, despite professing a faith, becomes an object at times, and subject of what is unusual in other times.Metrics
