A scientific discipline as reference: a conquest in the field of religious education

Abstract

This text is part of the Religious-Education-Map project that aims to identify, organize and analyze the enrollment course of this curricular component in the history of Brazilian education. The project, which is currently in it’s preliminary stage, focusses on the study of literature in order to establish the reference for further studies of historically produced documents in the field of Religious Education. It is the main goal of the project to promote Religious Education through the understanding of the field’s constituents both in terms of the curricula and the profile of the teacher training programes.  The present article gives an overview of the history of the discipline. For this purpose it makes use of a multidisciplinary approach composed of the concepts of Chervel, Passos and Romanowiski.

Livre-Docente (2012) e Pós-Doutor (2010) em Ciência da Religião pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC/SP), Doutor (2000) e Mestre (1996) em Ciências da Educação pela Universidade Pontifícia Salesiana (Roma-Itália), Professor do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Teologia da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná – PUCPR/PR. Líder do Grupo de Pesquisa Educação e Religião (GPER – www.gper.com.br). Como Professor Titular da PUCPR leciona e pesquisa no Programa de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Teologia.
