Abstract

This article presents the horizon of Religious Studies in Western thought and calls attention to its contemporary possibilities and relevance. The article argues that it is the role of Religious Studies both to clarify the diversity of religious expressions and to point out the limits and possibilities of an inclusive political coexistence in a unified and multicultural public sphere. The second part of the article deals with the relevance of this field of knowledge for Religious Education.
