Abstract

The investigative proposal starts with the geographical and historical approach of a Catholic religious tradition that integrates the Holy Week, which takes place in Pirenópolis /GO (Brazil). The analysis’s perspective seeks to contemplate the procession’s space of displacement from the past to the present, aiming at the interpretation of the spatiality created by the ephemerality of the Procession of the Lord Jesus of the Steps and also the perpetuation of the festivity in the city throughout the centuries. The participatory field research with observations, photographic and sonorous records, informal conversations with the faithful/devotees/participants/assistants, and consultations with several references, are subsidies to interpret the various possibilities of diffusion of the faith through space, observed from a procession
