“Bless them, my Father. Bless them”: Healing representations of urban Benzedeiras in Quirinópolis, GO

The objective of this research is to analyze as healing representations of benzedeiras living in the urban environment the municipality of Quirinópolis, Goiás. The present study is justified from the results of the doctoral research of that municipality between 2013 and 2016, in view of the relevance of these women for maintaining social hope. The main problem is to verify which representations that appear in the speeches recorded during the field research. It is hypothesized that oral representations point to aspects not only of religiosity, but of geography, medicine and culture. The methodology used in the research is an exploratory study of bibliographic character with field research, using as a research instrument a closed questionnaire, whichever, this article highlights only the aspects that permeate as representations of healing. The result is the richness of the speeches.
