The article offers a brief analysis of the institutional goals of the Hare Krishna movement’s tradition (ISKCON) and relates the latter to the tradition’s global discourses and the observed local experience of Krishna consciousness. These two dimensions represent complementary perspectives: while the global discourse promotes equality, the local experience establishes alterity
