Melhoramento humano, ectogênese e imortalidade
O cosmismo russo e a arqueologia do transhumanismo

Para entender a relevância das propostas transhumanistas na contemporaneidade, este artigo objetiva recuperar sua historicidade, das propostas de aperfeiçoamento tecnológico do corpo humano feita pelos cosmistas russos até a irradiação de suas ideias nos EUA e na Inglaterra, com geneticistas socialistas e liberais. O ponto culminante desse processo será o uso, pela primeira vez em 1957, do termo “transhumanismo”, por Julian Huxley. Nesta pesquisa, apresentam-se as influências, bem como a dificuldade conceitual em abordar essa temática, devido à escassez de trabalhos e ao hiato no entendimento das implicações da eugenia após 1945 equivocadamente associada somente ao nazismo.
