Análise do impacto da desigualdade de gênero no crescimento econômico: um estudo com dados em painel para o período 1960 e 2022

Este artigo trata da relação entre desigualdade de gênero e nível de crescimento econômico. Seu objetivo principal é testar a hipótese de que, quanto menor a desigualdade de gênero, maior será o crescimento econômico do país. Trabalhos como os de Klasen e Lamanna (2009), Er (2012) e Lechman e Kaur (2015) tratam do tema com diversas abordagens para avaliar a desigualdade de gênero, tais como o acesso da mulher a serviços de educação e inserção no mercado de trabalho e a relação dessas variáveis com o crescimento econômico. Neste artigo, utilizou-se a base de dados do Banco Mundial para o período de 1960 a 2022, sendo que a técnica econométrica adotada foi a de dados em painel. Os resultados encontrados mostram que as variáveis chave para a análise razão da participação feminina no mercado de trabalho e a razão da escolaridade feminina possuem sinais positivos e estatisticamente significantes. Desta forma, quanto menor a desigualdade de gênero em educação e em acesso à mercado de trabalho, maior o desenvolvimento econômico, tais resultados estão alinhados com trabalhos de Klasen e Lamanna (2009), Lincove (2008) e Thévenon et al (2012).
