Abstract

The paper is a survey that rescues some of the debates within the philosophy of science from logical positivism to critical realism, from the critics mentioned in these debates, namely, Popper, Kuhn and Lakatos. Subsequently, it presents a critical realism philosophy of Tony Lawson. The objective is to resume the arguments that comprise the critical realism and its interrelation with the post-Keynesian theory. The findings show that the emphasis on uncertainty, historical processes and the real choice reveals the commitment of the post-Keynesianism with something structured, open, dynamic ontologically, as elaborated and systematized within the approach of critical realism.
