A political economy analysis of the interest groups attitude across Mercosur

This paper analyzes the political economy and the attitude of interest groups during Mercosur’s regional economic integration. The main pressures took place in productive sectors among countries that have large comparative advantages. They were created by the flexibility of the protectionist barriers. The central government’s policy decisions have played an crucial rules either to incentive the conflict among interest groups and to go back some stages have already achieved in regional integration. The main concern of the four countries has been with domestic objectives.Downloads
