A cluster analysis was used on four variable dimensions, named “income”, “expenditure”, “social” and “infrastructure”. The data is used from Census 2000 (IBGE) and from Secretaria do Tesouro Nacional. The main results point a deep heterogeneity in the state. There is a segmentation among the municipal districts which are linked to the petroleum industrial chain and the others. However from the social and infrastructure point of view there are scattered patterns, as royalties incomes haven’t yet showed their contributions towards these dimensions
