Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explore the science of economic planning, from its emergence in the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, its subsequent change in China and to the present day in the form of the New Projectment Economy. Therefore, we seek to historically analyze the events in the two countries that caused the changes and developments in their respective economies, using mainly the Marxist framework. Issues such as the historical framework of the emergence of planning, how it worked, how its form changed to what is conventionally called the New Projectment Economy. We conclude by stating that the New Projectment Economy constitutes a higher stage of development that emerged in China as a result of the economic reforms initiated after the death of Mao Zedong, demonstrating some possible economic models that can help in its development.
