Abstract

Heloisa Candello is a researcher and interaction designer at the IBM Research laboratory in Brazil. She has experience in conducting qualitative research in the collection, design and evaluation of interactive systems. At IBM, she is part of projects that aim to improve people's experience using interactive technologies in financial contexts. Her main research areas are human interaction, semiotics, information design, and user-centered design methodologies. She holds a PhD in Computer Science, Interactive Technologies from the University of Brighton, UK. Her main research interest was applying design methods to discover how people use multimedia resources on their mobile devices in cultural heritage contexts. Before joining IBM, Heloisa was a lecturer and researcher in mobile interaction technologies. Currently at IBM, Heloisa is leading and conducting design research activities to understand contexts and people's motivations for using conversational technologies.

PhD and Master in Technologies of Intelligence and Digital Design from PUC-SP, with a Sandwich Doctorate period at Universitè Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne. Researcher at the Center for Studies on Web Technologies (Ceweb.br). Professor at the Computer Department of PUC-SP and coordinator of the Design course at the same institution.
