Abstract

Clara Mancini is a professor of Interaction Design at the School of Computing and Communications at Universidade Aberta. She is the founder and leader of the Animal-Computer Interaction Laboratory. Clara is particularly interested in the methodological challenges and opportunities for innovation caused by Animal-Computer Interaction (IAC), and without the potential to contribute to this emergency discipline for human and animal well-being, social inclusion, interspecies cooperation and environmental restoration. Clara has served as a principal investigator on IAC projects and supervised a variety of doctoral research on IAC, including ubiquitous and environmental interfaces for mobility assistance dogs and medical detection, interactive enrichment for captive elephants and wearable animal biotelemetry.

Clara Mancini was interviewed by Fabrício Fava on June 17, 2020, via Zoom.
