Abstract

Rosalind Picard's book advances technically by proposing that computers should be able to learn emotions to act in the service of human well-being. For this, Picard presents a framework with possible models for the construction of computers capable of understanding and showing affection, called Affective Computing (CA). Computers, software, devices, which continually assess individuals' emotions and their own "automated emotional states" is CA's proposal.
