The polarized debates on twentieth-century hermeneutics left important marks on modern philosophy and, to a certain extent, retain their relevance. However, with scientific advances made in the twentieth century, such as quantum physics and the development of set theory as a common basis for all mathematical structure, important changes can be seen in the place of contemporary theoretical markings. This article is an attempt to expose these changes based on the discussion of a text by Brian Massumi in which he exposes elements of the ontology of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, elements that will be confronted with the thought of Alain Badiou. Brian Massumi’s essay will be commented sequentially and partially, since at certain moments, interventions will have to be made in detail, which makes a complete commentary impossible. The rest of the text will be discussed on another occasion, as well as its possible implications at the ontological, hermeneutical and political levels.
