Abstract

This paper may be understood as a brief dossier on the trajectory of Katia Fiera. During talks conversations to the artist, it was possible to trace the complex relationships of her drawings, which happen by taking over walls and pages in artist’s book. The processes that drove her to a trajectory drawing are discussed, as well as the paper to other materialities migration operations and the devastation of memory in a search for references which allow the construction of narratives. The search for raw materials, the three dimensional plan, the framing w hich drive the gaze to suggest windows on a represented theme are also discussed. In this sense, th e investigation searches for the drawing as a practice, medium and, above all, as Kátia Fiera’s poetics as opposed to what has been revealed by art history: sketch, constructive method, a draft for the work of art. Based on the relational perspective of a Semiotics Process Critique, proposed by Cecilia Salles, it was possible to approach Katia Fiera’s concepts, driving principles, tendencies and creative resources. The artist’s reports present in this article is information both reinterpreted and reorganised as subsidy of a process critique to rescue and indicate drawing notions practiced by the artist.
