AN ANALYSIS OF EMOTIVE-VOLITIVE TONES IN ONLINE COMMENTS

The internet has stimulated tangible changes in interaction and in discursive production. Consequently, we then face the emergence of online comments — a native genre of the digital world. This discursive genre is made of concrete statements which result from dialogical relations, and it is full of emotional-volitional. Aware of this, in this research we aimed to investigate the emotional-volitional tones in online comments inserted in the social network account @barbiefascista_ in publications of memes about the COVID-19 pandemic. To do so, we start from reflections whose contribution is based on the Dialogical Theory of Language. Theoretical (TDL) postulations served as the basis for achieving the results, which indicate that the emotional-volitional tones manifested in concrete statements of online comments authorized the demarcation of axiologically situated positions regarding the unfolding of the pandemic event, indicating the ideological affiliations of the discursive subjects.
